I would propose that this would fall under a combination of Code enforcement AND Health Dept. When was the last time you took a good hard look at Tom Thumb, Kroger, Albertsons, etc. Went through the drive-thru today at Braums, the whole area including the drive, outside wall, window, door, you name it could pass for the interior of a dumpster. I refuse to shop for anything in DeSoto. Take a field trip to Midlothian or Mansfield. The difference is breathe taking. I have taken to saying to anyone that will listen, "I sleep in DeSoto but I LIVE in Waxahachie (Mansfield or Midlothian). It doesn't have to be this way. A drive along BeltLine is terrible. I'm ashamed that the land mark to turn into my street is a barbershop/bbq/domino field. The mess that used to be Brookhollow is a complete failure. The flea market idea is pure ghetto.Lived here almost 52 years and have been long silent. My error, no more. Other than the Section 8 house in my neighborhood, we still try to keep

Please complete the crumbled curbs in the medians on Hampton Road. You did ONE and it looks better. What happened to the rest? Bring some beautification down this main street. Plant Crepe Myrtles along at least one side of the road. Beautify the old concrete medians with new gravel or decor. Brighten it up. New lighting would help. For Christmas can we more than one or two street lights to be colored and lit in a row? They skip! Can there be distinct hanging banners and not worn out ones scattered here and there? No businesses want to open on streets that have slack maintenance. The white lines are missing or worn. If it weren't for the State paying to fix Beltline, that'd be tacky too. Trim the trees and gee- Thank goodness for Tom Thumb & other businesses that have their own landscaping. Look at million dollar T-mobile's franchise on the corner City Hall. Why are you not citing them for shoddy maintenance? Code these businesses other cities do.
