[ARCHIVED] Hometown Holiday Celebration

Join us as we kick off the Holiday season with our Hometown Holiday Celebration and Christmas Tree Lighting! This annual event will be held at DeSoto Town Center (211 E. Pleasant Run Rd.) on November 30, 2017. It will be an evening of musical entertainment, crafts for the children, a visit from Santa and refreshments. You and your family are welcome to be a part of this time-honored tradition. The ceremonial tree lighting will occur at 8pm.

The City of DeSoto annual Christmas Parade is a major event that will close down parts of Hampton Road from Wintergreen Road to Dalton Drive, as well as parts of Pleasant Run Road between Chattey Road and Red Bud Drive during the hours of 6:40 p.m. until approximately 9:00 p.m. This year’s Christmas Parade will take place at DeSoto Town Center located at 211 E. Pleasant Run Road and will be more of a “Block Festival”. The parade will consist of three competing marching bands from DeSoto, Lancaster, and Carter High Schools. The parade route will start at Hampton Road and Woodhaven Drive and proceed south on Hampton Road to Pleasant Run Road. Each band will stop along Hampton Road to conduct a 3-minute performance for the crowds along Hampton Road. After each performance the bands will then continue turning eastbound onto Pleasant Run Road where they will again stop and conduct a 3-minute performance for the crowds along Pleasant Run Road. Once the performances are done the bands will continue east on Pleasant Run Road to the busing and staging area. The parade participants will line up along the rear driveway of the Civic Center that leads to the Amphitheater.
