Are you interested in preparing yourself in emergency response? Are you interested in joining a trained volunteer group to help your first responders and fellow residents during an emergency? Then you should join the Best Southwest CERT!

This program teaches interested community volunteers many aspects of emergency preparedness and response. Past emergencies have shown that basic training in disaster survival and rescue skills improves the ability of citizens to survive. Armed with that knowledge, CERT volunteers make up a team that is ready to assist our cities for any type of disaster that occurs.

What’s in it for you?

The opportunity to interact and get to know members of DeSoto Fire Rescue;

Learn personal preparedness and response skills like how to suppress small fires with extinguishers; Utility control for your neighborhood; Disaster medical operations; Light search and rescue;

Have the opportunity to work with other local first responders. Assist in emergency response efforts as a trained CERT volunteer.

Team organization and much, much more.
