Holiday Schedule

**2020 Holiday Trash & Recycling Schedule (Christmas and New Year's)**

Republic will not collect any forms of trash (household or bulky items) on Christmas Day (Friday, December 25th) or New Year's Day (Friday, January 1st). Trash that is normally collected on Fridays will be collected on Saturday for both weeks. No other collection days are impacted.

Holidays in the year when trash is NOT picked-up and is rescheduled:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Fourth of July
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day
If trash is rescheduled, then pick up moves forward one day. For example:

Monday holidays, such as Labor Day, affect trash collection. In a week when a Monday holiday occurs, trash will not be collected on that Monday, and the entire week's pickup schedule moves forward one day.

Monday Holiday Adjustment
Trash usually collected: Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
Will be collected on: Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday

Other holidays such as Thanksgiving are less disruptive to the schedule, but still have an impact on collection. The normal Thursday trash collection which falls on Thanksgiving will move to Friday and the Friday trash will be collected on Saturday.

If a holiday falls on Saturday, it should not affect trash pickup.

If recycling pick-up is disturbed due to a holiday, recycling will be picked up on Thursday of the holiday week.
