2nd Quarter Update
April 2022 

The Cities of Cedar Hill, Duncanville, Lancaster, and Glenn Heights have all approved governance agreements that allow for the formation and staffing of a Regional Behavioral Health Services Unit. The regional unit is operating out of Northside Elementary School through an agreement with DeSoto ISD. The second year of funding was approved through Dallas County and accepted by the City of DeSoto in April 2022. This funding will allow DeSoto’s regional partners to remain engaged in the project through financing to support the reallocation of staff and resources. A draft Interlocal Agreement for a regional diversion court structure has been prepared and is being reviewed by each of the participating cities.

1st Quarter Update
January 2022

The implementation of a Regional Behavioral Health Services Unit (CARE Team) is well under way with the DeSoto effort having a year of operational experience and a dedicated office location. A steering committee has been established and governance agreements drafted. The second year of grant funding will be sought from Dallas County in Q2.
