Appearance Dates
The law requires you appear in court on your case. The appearance dates vary by the nature of the action.
- Citations: Appearance date is noted on the citation
- Released on Bond: Appearance date is set on the bond
- Complaint Filed: Notified by mail of appearance date
Appearances Requirements
- You and your attorney, if you have retained an attorney, must make an appearance before the court in one of four ways:
- In Person at the court facility, located in Town Center at 211 E. Pleasant Run Road, DeSoto, TX 75115
- By Mailing your payment or request: DeSoto Municipal Court 211 E. Pleasant Run Road, DeSoto, TX 75115
- By making an Online Request of Deferred Disposition, Driver's Safety Course, or Compliance Dismissal
- By paying your citation online at www.desototexas.gov/payticket on or before your appearance date
- You are not required to retain an attorney.
- Picture identification will be required (state issued ID or Driver’s License is acceptable).
- Attorneys may be required to present their state issued Bar Card, in addition to a picture ID.
- An appearance in writing or through online request must be received by your appearance date. (See Juveniles for specific requirements for defendants under 17 years of age).
court times
The Judge holds a regularly scheduled Walk-In Court, Monday through Friday, at 10:30am (excluding periodic scheduled days off or holidays) for your convenience. If you have an initial appearance on a citation or you have an old citation or warrant, you can come meet with the Judge at 10:30am Monday through Friday to resolve these cases without fear of being arrested.
