Overview
- Comprised of seven members appointed by the City Council to serve for a two year term, with term limits of six years
- Serve in an advisory capacity to the DeSoto City Council in matters that pertain to the library
- Serve as a liaison and representative of the community on library matters, as well as support and promote the need for great public library services in DeSoto
- Support the DeSoto Public Library mission, vision, and values
- Work to promote library services and programs, and advocate for the library throughout the community
- Advise library staff, as needed, in developing policies, budget requests, and strategic planning
- Board will help advise in reconciling contradictory viewpoints and serve as a channel for citizen expression in library matters

Schedule
The Library Board meets the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Library Assembly Hall
or Conference Room in the DeSoto Public Library.
