Animal Control
The City of DeSoto employs two full-time and one part-time animal control officers who are responsible for patrolling the city and answering all animal-related complaints. During Daylight Savings Time, animal control officers run split shift so they can be available between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Animal Shelter
When animals are picked up by animal control, they are taken to the Tri-City Animal Shelter.

Things to Know
Chapter 2 of the City of DeSoto Code of Ordinances addresses Animal Control issues. This chapter was amended by Ordinance 1738-07, which was approved by City Council at their regular meeting July 17, 2007. This Ordinance takes effect October 1, 2007.
