The City of DeSoto will hold a Regular Election on Saturday, May 11, 2013.

Early Voting by personal appearance shall be conducted in the DeSoto Library Assembly Hall, located in the DeSoto Town Center at 211 E. Pleasant Run Road. 

Hours are as follows:

Monday, April 29, 2013 and continuing through Saturday, May 4, 2013, between the hours of 8am and 5pm; Sunday, May 5, 2013, between the hours of 1pm and 6pm; and Monday, May 6, 2013 and Tuesday, May 7, 2013, between the hours of 7am and 7pm. 

Qualified voters for the Joint Election may vote early by personal appearance at either the main early voting location or at any of the branch locations.

Election Day voting on Saturday, May 11, 2013 shall be from 7am to 7pm in the DeSoto Library Assembly Hall.

The following are the candidates for this election:

Place 1 - Carl O. Sherman
Mayor

Place 3 - Kristine Clark
              Nicole Raphiel

Place 5 - Richard (Dick) North
              Terrence Campbell

*Note:  The last day for a candidate to withdraw from the General Election was March 4, 2013; however, on March 18, 2013, Ms. Peggy Mitchell, Candidate for Place 5, submitted her request to withdraw from the election.  Because her submittal was AFTER the cut-off date, her name will still be on the ballot.  If Ms. Mitchell receives enough votes to win Place 5, she will need to officially submit her resignation to the City Secretary's Office and the City will call a Special Election to Fill the Vacancy for Place 5.
