The City of DeSoto belongs to the Dallas County Household Hazardous Waste Network (HHWN), allowing citizens a means of disposing hazardous materials that can't be accepted at the landfill. The collection center, located in north Dallas is open throughout the year. Informational Flyer

Proof of Residency
Bring driver’s license and water bill or other utility bill as proof of residence.

• Lawn & garden chemicals
• Aerosol sprays
• Pool chemicals
• Craft & hobby supplies
• Cleaners & polishes
• Batteries of all kinds
• Automotive fluids & oil filters
• Fluorescent light tubes

Don’t Bring 

• Business or commercial waste
• Containers larger than 5 gallons
• Explosives or ammunition
• Shock sensitive materials
• Smoke detectors or other radioactive materials
• Common trash or recyclables
• Construction debris
• Electronics or appliances other than computers and cell phones
• Medical waste, including expired prescription medication. For instructions on disposal of expired/unused medications, check the DEA website at www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov.

Driving Directions

• The Home Chemical Collection Center is located one mile north of 635, between Miller Road and Forest Lane.
• The building is easily identified by its white color and bright turquoise trim.
• The entrance to the collection area is the first driveway north of the railroad tracks on the east side of the street.
• Do not turn into the driveway closest to the building; it is the exit gate.
