Karima Dash is the Managing Director of the Southwest Regional Communications Center, the 911 Call Center for the Cities of DeSoto, Duncanville and Cedar Hill.

Karima began her career in the emergency communication field in 2000 as a 911 call taker/dispatcher. She has held the positions of Sergeant, Quality Assurance Supervisor, Training Coordinator, and Standards Manager prior to her start as Director at the Southwest Regional Communication Center. She attended undergraduate school in New York City at John Jay School of Criminal Justice. Karima completed her B.A. in Criminal Justice, as well as received her Masters of Public Administration with a focus on the Department of Homeland Security, from Augusta State University, where she graduated in 2010. After completing her graduate dissertation, which focused on job satisfaction in her then-workplace, she began dedicating her time and supervisory role to morale building and employee relations. Karima has devoted her career to building a comprehensive knowledge base for her employees, in order to meet the demands of the ever evolving realm of emergency communications. She also values community outreach to ensure citizens are given the opportunity to understand the essential aspects of accuracy and expeditiousness that are needed in 911 call taking and dispatching.
