Lucile Dade is Managing Director of Library Services. She has served the City of DeSoto as Managing Director of Library Services since 2005. Lucile’s career spans 35+ years in the profession of Library and Information Science. She began her career at Dallas Public Library and has been devoted to this profession since. While at Dallas Public Library, she was promoted from clerk, to Library Assistant, to Librarian to Branch Manager. She later accepted a position as Assistant Director of Library Services for the Super Conducting Super Collier project with the responsibility of developing and staffing the scientific and technical library. In 1995 Lucile accepted a position with the City of Carrollton as a Branch Manager and was quickly promoted to Director of Library Services with the awesome responsibilities of renovating an old grocery story into a new Library and later working with library architects to plan, design, develop and open a second new Library for the City of Carrollton.
Lucile received her Bachelor of Arts from Texas Southern University and her Master’s in Library Science from Texas Woman’s University. She has completed several leadership programs and is a member of the American Library Association, Texas Library Association, Public Library Association and National Forum for Black Public Administrators.
