DeSoto Teen Empowerment Summit
- May 31- workshop topics include work ethics, resume writing, interview skills, professionalism, and much more. The week long summit concludes with a teen job fair featuring local businesses. You must register and space is limited! For more information call Ms. Marq Runnels at 972.230.9663.
The Desoto Public Library Teen Volunteer Program
is looking for teen volunteers who are at least 13 years old for its Teen Summer Volunteer Program. The Teen Summer Volunteer Program is a 5 week program that provides teens with confidence-building volunteer exper
ience, practical job skills, customer and public service experience and an introduction to possible careers in libraries. Teens can volunteer at the library by assisting at the check-out desk, shelving library materials, assisting with the Summer Reading Club Program, tutoring children ages 6-9 in reading, or joining our Teen Techie Program that assists teens in learning a variety of new computer technologies. The TSVP begins June 17. Interested teens may apply for the program May 1 - May 25. Teens may apply online at

Get ready for an action packed program to keep teens engaged in summer fun with all traditional summer camp activities. Lunch is provided. Desoto ISD students only, please. $10 Recreation pass required. Mon - Thurs 1 -7 pm, Friday 1-6 pm.
Junior Players Discover Theater Summer Camp
Free | June 16 - 27 | 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. | Registration begins May 1st | Ages 7-14
Junior Players Discover Theater is a free two-week summer theater camp that meets every day, Monday - Friday for two hours. Children ages 7-14 are eligible to participate and classes are limited to 25 students. Campers will learn basic drama techniques and use them to perform a small skit at our Festival of Plays.

Tausha Mills "Jumping 2 Give" Basketball Camp
June 16 - 20 | 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. | $99 | ages 5 - 17
Campers will develop all of their basketball skills-shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding, self-discipline, perseverance, work ethic and defense. The "Jumping 2 Give" Kids Basketball Camp immerses youth in the sport, giving youth the kind of focused, intensive training that is essential to improvement. Over the course of the 4-hour camp, youth self-confidence will grow along with skills and overall appreciation of the game. For more information please contact 214
First Start Sports (Soccer, Track & Field, Basketball and T-ball)
June 25 - July 16 | 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. | $20 for all four sessions | Ages 3 -5
During each session, preschoolers will learn the basic skills for a specific sport. This is a great way for participants to develop their motor skills and gain an understanding of basic sport fundamentals. Parent involvement is strongly encouraged. Dallas Mavericks Hoop Camp
June 30 - July 4 | $240 | 9 am - 4 pm
Young basketball players of all skill levels learn the game from the best camp coaching staff in Texas.
