The Corner theater is the home of the African-American Repertory Theater. This professional theater company was named the "Best Start-up Theater Company in 2008" by the Dallas Morning News. The founders of the African American Repertory Theater are Irma P. Hall, Regina Washington, and Vince McGill.

The purpose and mission of the African American Repertory Theater is to produce engaging, culturally diverse theater from an African American perspective while educating our community on African American history and the arts.
