The DeSoto Public Library is offering Story Time To Go kits for families to pick up Monday-Friday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Community members can stop by the library in person to pick up a kit or call to have the kits delivered curbside. This week is a music theme!

The two members who accumulate the most steps in the two-week period will be announced as our Winners. Steps can only be counted when using the following: Treadmill, Elliptical, Recumbent Bicycles or the Walking Track Steps can only be calculated with a DeSoto Parks and Recreation issued pedometer The contest begins at 8am on April 12, 2021, and ends at 8pm on April 23, 2021. The winner and Runner-up will be announced on Wednesday, April 30, 2021.

This program is a challenging and dynamic whole-body muscle conditioning exercise program. Exercises will be modified to accommodate all fitness levels. Be prepared to work your muscles and burn calories!

This is a 60-minute group fitness class combining cardio, strength, and stretch moves for a total body workout. We have taken moves from hip-hop, yoga, Pilates, jazz dance, kickboxing, and resistance training and bundled them into one hour. Every class combines cardio moves to enhance endurance and burn mega calories, strength training to define muscles and strengthen your core, and stretching to increase flexibility. Due to COVID-19 visitors are asked to comply with the following guidelines. This class will teach children ways to channel their energy in a positive way, self-discipline, respect for others, self-defense, improved memory skills, and physical conditioning. Combined styles of American Kenpo and American Tae Kwon Do are emphasized in this class. Master Lloyd Ploeger is the class instructor. For more information, call (972) 217-6363.
