City of DeSoto Will Hold A Special Election On August 26, 2017


The City of DeSoto will hold a Special Election to fill an unexpired term for Place 7 on the DeSoto City Council on August 26, 2017.  Here are the candidates as they will appear on the ballot:

Jonathon "Johnny" Salguero

James E. Collier, Jr.   

Kenzie Moore, III    

All members of the City Council run by place but are elected at large.  This means that they must reside in the district for which they are seeking election.  However, all registered voters who live anywhere in DeSoto may cast ballots in this special election. 

Early voting will take place at Disciple Central Community Church (DC3) located at 901 N. Polk Street.  Here is the schedule:

August 9 through August 11 (Wednesday – Friday)                    8 am - 5 pm

August 14 through August 18 (Monday – Friday)                         8 am - 5 pm

August 19 (Saturday)                                                                         8 am - 5 pm

August 20 (Sunday)                                                                            1 pm - 6 pm

August 21 & 22 (Monday and Tuesday)                                            7 am - 7 pm

On Election Day, Saturday, August 26, 2017, voting takes place at the DeSoto ISD Belt Line Conference Center located at 200 E. Belt Line Road from 7 am to 7 pm.
