Morning Computer Class
DeSoto Public Library Free Morning Computer Classes!
Classes are on Wednesday and Thursday mornings, from 11:00am – 1:00pm in the Library's Venable Training Room unless otherwise indicated.
Jan. 8 & 9 Beginning Microsoft Excel — A two day course designed to
familiarize students with the common terminology, screen
components, and functions of Microsoft Excel. Students will learn
to create budgets and formulas they can use in their personal lives.
Jan. 15 & 16 Beginning Computer Basics — A two day course designed to
familiarize students new to computers with basic computer
terminology, hardware, software, input and output devices,
Windows Operating System, and the desktop.
Jan. 22 & 23 Intermediate Computer Basics — A two day course designed to
build on Beginning Computer Basic concepts and familiarize
students with Windows Explorer, file management, the start menu,
computer customization using the Control Panel
Jan. 29 & 30 Internet I — A two day course designed to familiarize students
with web browser basics, search engines, search strategies, and
online security. Students will learn how to keep their information
and their computer secure and safe.
A valid DeSoto Public Library card, Flash Drive and folder for handouts are required for all classes.
Space is limited, registration is necessary. Please call the Information Desk, 972.230.9661 to register for these classes.
If you find you cannot attend a class after you’ve registered, please call the Library to cancel your registration.
