Large/Bulky Item Pickup

  • Furniture, mattresses, appliances and most any other large items should be placed with your regular trash on the second trash pick up day of the week for removal. Refrigerators and air conditioning units will NOT be removed unless the refrigerant container has been removed and "red tagged" by a licensed professional.
  • Tires, batteries and other hazardous waste are not allowed in our landfill and must be disposed of properly. These items should not be placed with your regular trash for pick-up.
  • Construction materials are not accepted.
  • Fencing: All loose brush or fencing material can be placed on the curb in front of your residence for pick-up. If you are replacing the entire fence, it should be placed in the front of your residence.

Trash Requirements

  • Trash must be placed out for pick-up in the alley or front curb (where applicable) by 7 a.m. on the day of pick-up.
  • Garbage must be placed in a plastic refuse bag. Bag must not weigh more than 50 lbs.
  • The front, back, side yards and the alley and easement should remain free of all litter, trash and refuse.
  • Receptacles must be placed in the proper location either on the front right-of-way or in the alley for weekly solid waste pickup.
  • Trash must be placed out only on the day of trash pick-up. This reduces loose debris in the neighborhoods. Residents who place trash out prior to their trash pick-up day will be cited for junk and debris.
  • Solid waste is collected twice weekly.

For information on disposing of hazardous waste or any other questions regarding solid waste collection, call 972-274-CITY.
