Siren Testing
  • For information on the DeSoto Community Alert Warning System, call 972.230.9600.
  • The system is tested on the first Wednesday of each month at 2 p.m. to ensure that it is operating properly.
  • It will not be tested if there is adverse weather in the area.
  • Activation of system at any other time is a warning that an emergency situation exists.

About the System
The DeSoto Community Alert Warning System is an electronic, state of the art siren system which was specifically designed to provide comprehensive coverage with ten sirens strategically located throughout the city.
The sirens are aerodynamically designed, rotating, and unidirectional, covering up to a four-mile radius.
They can be activated at the 911 Public Safety Dispatch Center or the Emergency Operations Center located at DeSoto City Hall.
