Mission Statement



The mission of the Purchasing Division is to obtain the necessary goods and services, for all city departments, in a cost effective, efficient, and timely manner, ensuring that all procurement activities are conducted in compliance with all federal and state laws, local ordinances, and approved policies and procedures.

Responsibilities



The Purchasing office is responsible for:
  • purchasing city equipment and supplies
  • bidding services and goods required for city projects
  • maintain and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal control procedures
  • conduct business with the highest level of customer service ethical standards, fairness, and transparency
  • welcoming qualified responsible, diverse and " green" vendors.

By registering with Public Purchase, your firm is guaranteed to receive all City of DeSoto bids/proposals announcement and addenda (for only the commodities for which you have registered with Public Purchase.)

Auction



Surplus items, vehicles, equipment, confiscated items, and abandoned vehicles shall be sold at auction utilizing a licensed third party auctioneer. Vendor Registration



 In order to be added to the Vendors list, go to https://www.publicpurchase.com/gems/register/vendor/register to register under City of Desoto and select NIGP codes relevant to your business. You will be automatically added to our vendors’ list and you will be notified when a request is issued for your selected services/goods.

Bid Opportunities and Tabulation
