Dr. Tracey J. Hunter Hayes

As the senior administrator who manages and directs the library services, and as the servant leader who works with all constituents who utilize the library, the Managing Director of Library Services Dr. Tracey J. Hunter Hayes serves, speaks, and acts to meet the needs of patrons. Enjoying the opportunity to serve and create engagement opportunities for patrons is at the core of his work ethic. 

He celebrates more than three decades of professional library service with staff, faculty, management, and leadership positions in public, special, and academic librarianship. He commenced his career as a Children’s Librarian. Then he completed a fellowship at the American Library Association where he researched and conducted a national study on recruitment, and presented workshops and lectures at several conferences. He is a Snowbird Leadership alum and has presented at state and national library conferences. He chaired ALA's Constitution & Bylaws Committee and the International Relations Committee's Humphry/OCLC/Forrest Press Award, and co-chaired Black Caucus American Library Association's NCAAL XI and has attended several IFLA conferences during his career. 

Dr. Hunter Hayes is an educator and practitioner who earned a bachelor, two masters and a doctorate degree.
